European Day of Languages at Kivikko school, Kemi, Finland

We celebrated the European Language Day at Kivikko school as a language market-happening. In our school we have families with several languages and those parents were willing to come to introduce their mother languages for the pupils. During the day the pupils learned about Russian, Greek, Swedish, German and Spanish. They learned about numbers, greetings, and to write their owns names in cyrillic letters.
During the day the pupils also searched QR codes behind which they found links to different language examples. They tried to listen and recognize those linked languages, which mostly were sent  to us from our partner schools of Erasmus+.
Our school  participates in 2018-2020 in an Erasmus+ project  called R.A.I.N.B.O.W (Reading Awakens Imagination, Nourishes Brain, Opens Worlds). It is about reading skills and the joy of reading. The project countries are Spain, Croatia, Poland, Greece, Germany and Finland.
At Kivikko school we had local media , both tv, radio and newspaper. In the newspaper Lounais- Lappi 29.9. there was an article about our day and the tv channel Yle showed a short cut from our school.
